SEND Statement

The Chiltern School is a maintained area special school with a complex needs designation.

Our learners are aged 3-19 and are identified with a range of layered needs. This can include Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Communication Disorders, and Social Emotional Mental Health Needs.

Our provision focuses on personalised learning to meet the holistic needs of the class group. As an inclusive school community, we are committed to providing a vibrant and fulfilling offer to our learners.

All of our learners have an Education Health Care Plan or Statement of Educational Needs. 

The annual review process is built on Person Centred Planning, actively involving the child or young person and their community of support.

We are committed to partnership working through a collaborative approach with internal and external agencies. Our staff have a range of specialist qualifications to promote personalised learning throughout the school day.
